Artificial Grass Selection
Remove your existing Garden Lawn
To remove existing grass, you have two options: use a spade for manual removal or hire a turf cutter for easier and more efficient removal. Choose the method that suits your needs and resources for a smooth transition to your new artificial grass installation.
Lay your Base.
Put a minimum 3-inch layer of dolomite or crusher dust and compact using a wacker plate. Try to make it nice and smooth. Once you have compacted down, put a layer of sharp sand over this. Again, you compact and smooth off to create the final finished base.
Remember your Geo-textile Membrane
A weed barrier is laid directly on top of the sand and overlapped to ensure that your new artificial grass is protected from weeds. It’s a minimal cost and surely needed. Secure this with small galvanised nails.
Installation of your new Artificial Lawn.
For the best aesthetic result, ensure the pile direction of your new artificial lawn is laid towards the direction you most often view it from. If it’s the back of your house, face the pile direction towards you; for the front, face it towards the road, enhancing the overall appearance.

My order for 6 bamboo panels arrived today. All in good shape. The driver was nice, friendly and considerate. He did not hv to shut my front gate but he did before leaving.
